Born and raised in Dutchess County, NY, Dr. Elaina Nellis graduated from Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, PA, with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Pre Medicine. She then returned to New York and completed her Doctor of Optometry training at the State University of New York College of Optometry.
During her clinical rotations, Dr. Nellis specialized in treating and managing glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, contact lenses, and pre and post-operative cataracts. Â While at the SUNY College of Optometry, she received numerous awards for her scholastic and clinical achievements, including the American Academy of Optometry Foundation/VSP Practice Excellence Award, the Dr. William M. Eisenbergy Memorial Award for Outstanding Excellence in Ocular Disease and membership in Beta Sigma Kappa, the International Optometric Honors Society.
Dr. Nellis has spent the past several years working at the private practice she grew up attending in Upstate NY. She and her husband have recently relocated to South Jersey and enjoy exploring the area. When she is not seeing her patients, Dr. Nellis enjoys running, being outside, and spending time with her friends and family.
